The Geek Foundation
A nonprofit Salesforce build around cohorts, attendance, students, donors, and partners.
The Geek Foundation needed Salesforce to consolidate program data from spreadsheets across tech cohorts, student applications, attendance, childcare, employer partners, donors, sponsors, and community outreach.
Operating challenge
The organization had many mission-critical sheets: IT, web development, full-stack, video game, childcare, TANF/Missouri Job Center applicants, student demographics, attendance percentages, partner companies, funding prospects, and sponsor ideas. The CRM had to serve program, development, and employment-outcome teams.
What Lodestone shaped
- Mapped spreadsheet sources into Salesforce objects such as contacts, applications, application details, classes, courses, attendance, attendance details, accounts, and campaigns.
- Imported cohort, applicant, attendance, partner, nonprofit, and funding-source data with review steps for the client team.
- Supported UAT questions around adult versus children's programs, course consolidation, attendance reporting, pie charts, user access, and donor-development visibility.
Resulting direction
- Program data moved from scattered sheets toward a Salesforce model that could track students, classes, attendance, applications, partners, and funders.
- The team gained a clearer foundation for reporting on attendance, student hours served, graduation, job-placement partnerships, and donor work.
- Salesforce became more aligned to the nonprofit's actual mix of workforce development, youth programs, fundraising, and community partnerships.
